It is shown that the projection of an ellipsoid's limb in a direction perpendicular to a principal plane is an ellipse in that plane. Then a method for reconstructing an ellipsoid from three projections of its limbs on the three principal planes is introduced. This supports the work of reconstructing a shape from its projections, views, or images which is of special interest in application areas like pattern recognition, computer vision, and medical imaging.

Keywords: Ellipsoid, limb, projection, reconstruction.
