We obtain the following result: Suppose that (an) is a sequence of distinct complex numbers such that the imaginary part of an is very close to zero and such that for ε>0, we have |am-an|>ε|an|>0 for all m,n, n≠m. Then (an) is not a Bank-Laine sequence.
