[Abstract-pdf] [Abstract-ps]

We introduce a new metric characteristic of dimensional type for non-rectifiable curves in the complex plane and use it to solve the so-called jump problem, i.e. the boundary value problem for determination of a holomorphic function with a given jump on a given curve.

Keywords: Jump problem, non-rectifiable curve, metric dimension.
